Ultimate storage cart for quilt show exhibitors. Easily store and transport all NoSeeUms™ quilt hanging items.
Cubbies hold telescoping bars of the various sizes, lanyards are secured tangle-free along sides, hanging tools can be kept at-hand, and drawers and top surfaces corral any additional supplies.
These plans are written for carpenters who are "skilled in the art" of wood-working. For example, the details involved in making a dado joint are not explained but are assumed knowledge.
The cart shown in the photos was built in a cabinet shop that had a large table saw, one which was able to handle full sheets of plywood. This large table also had a built-in router that used the same accurate fence the the table saw had.
All the dado joints are there to carry the load of the telescoping bars. If you do not have access to such accurate machinery, it would be possible to build a sturdy cart using drilled angle iron under all the weight-supporting shelves of the cart.
There is also a portion of the cart, the base, which requires work done by a metal fabricator.
If you have questions or comments now or as you work, you may call designer Martin Reece-Sullivan at 541 area code 621-3408. This is a cell number and will be answered if not driving or otherwise unavailable.
